Sandy Beach
Managed by Natrona County Parks Dept  -  (307) 235-9311

Day Use Only - No Overnight Camping
CLOSED: 10PM to 7AM

The waters and white sandy beaches of Alcova Lake beckon and Sandy Beach is the perfect location to enjoy both.  Located on the west side of Alcova Lake, Beach VolleyballSandy Beach is just a slight jog off of Lake Shore Drive.  You're be ready to ease down the hill, beach towels and blankets in hand, to bask in the glow of a giant summer sun.  Sandy Beach also affords the opportunity for swimming and beach volleyball.

From the parking lot you will find picnic areas where you can view the entire lake from the dam to the canyon. To the west you will find four large picnic shelters, for large groups - call to reserve.  Restroom facilities and ADA locations complete this day use only area.

ADA Info:

At the Sandy Beach parking lot there is an ADA accessible sheltered picnic table with handicapped parking.  This provides great views over of the beach and lake.  There is an ADA accessible restroom accross the parking lot from the picnic area.  Access to the beach for those who are disabled might be a challenge depending on your disability.  There is a road leading down to the beach where you may load and unload from a car (but not park).  If you prefer a shallow swim area you might find the Children's Swim Beach more to your liking with a concrete sidewalk into the swim area providing stability for walking and those with a wheelchair.
